Meiji Period Tokyo Region Merchant Chest. Japanese Antique Merchant Chest is known as a Choba Dansu in Japan. It was used in the shop front in pride of place. All the drawers were used to organise and store receipts and ledgers. Made by Japanese Master Craftsman.
It has a super secret drawer. In great condition.
