Japanese Wakasa Lacquered Jubako
A striking three-tier Japanese jubako dating from around 1930, finished in richly patterned Wakasa lacquer. The surface features intricate layers of warm red, orange and dark green tones, creating a highly textured, almost organic design across the lid and sides.
Traditionally used for presenting special foods during celebrations and New Year festivities, this vintage jubako is both functional and decorative. The beautifully aged lacquer and distinctive hand-worked finish give the piece wonderful depth and character, making it an impressive example of Japanese lacquer craftsmanship.
There are some small scratches and chips on the bottom and one small repair. The size is D:195mm x W:210mm x H:205mm and the Weight is 1.200Kgs
