A set of six Japanese Inban porcelain plates, circa 1900, decorated using the traditional copper-plate transfer process. Featuring detailed blue-and-white patterns and distinctive warm brown pie-crust rims, these attractive antique plates are an ideal side-plate size for cakes, snacks or light meals.

The Japanese copper-plate process is a form of transfer printing rather than true stencilling. A design was engraved into a copper plate, filled with cobalt pigment and printed onto thin paper. The paper was then pressed onto the unfired ceramic, transferring the pattern before glazing and firing. Traditional stencil decoration instead used designs cut directly into treated washi paper. .In good condition. The size is D220mm x  H:25mm each and the weight for each is  .520Kgs.
