This Kyoto kitchen chest, or mizuya dansu, circa 1890, is a stunning example of traditional Japanese cabinetry. Crafted from hinoki (cypress), sugi (cedar), keyaki (zelkova), and kaki (persimmon) woods, it features sliding doors, intricate joinery, and ample storage. A functional and elegant heirloom of timeless craftsmanship with hand forged copper crescent moon handles.
