Katagami Japanese Stencil.
Katagami stencils are traditional Japanese, hand-cut stencils made by laminating multiple sheets of mulberry bark paper (washi), which are then treated with fermented persimmon tannin (kakishibu) for waterproof strength. They are often smoked for durability and, for intricate designs, supported by fine silk threads.
