Japanese Bronze Hibachi Urn with Chinese Sages, circa 1890. This beautifully cast Meiji period bronze hibachi is decorated in high relief with Chinese sages engaged in scholarly pursuits. Richly detailed and full of character. It rests on a handsome elm base, enhancing its presence and warmth. A very good example of Japanese bronze craftsmanship.
