Negoro lacquer is a traditional Japanese finish characterized by layers of black lacquer beneath a top coat of vibrant red. Over time, natural wear reveals the black underlayer, creating a beautiful contrast. Originating from Negoro-ji Temple in the 14th century, it embodies wabi-sabi aesthetics and refined, aged elegance.
