Meiji Period Kyoto Region2 Section Merchant Chest. Japanese Merchant Chest is known as a Choba Dansu in Japan. It was used in the shop front in pride of place. All the drawers were used to organise and store receipts and ledgers. The hand forged handles are crescent moon design.
