A very rare configuration Matsumoto Choba Dansu Merchant Chest.
Merchant’s Chest or Cho-Ba Dansu are made up of multiple drawers, compartments. They were used by shop merchant’s. These chests were in pride of place exhibiting the owner’s prosperity. It is made of Zelkova, Chestnut and Cryptomeria with fancy hand beaten metal work. It was used for the storage of ledgers, ink, paper, documents and writing paraphernalia.
