Kyoto Region Mizuya Dansu Kitchen Chest Sideboard. This Kyoto kitchen chest, or mizuya dansu (Bottom Section) circa 1890’s, is a stunning example of traditional Japanese cabinetry. Crafted from Hinoki (Japanese Cypress), Sugi (Japanese Cedar), Keyaki (Zelkova) woods. It features sliding doors, intricate joinery, and ample storage. A functional and elegant heirloom of timeless craftsmanship with hand forged copper crescent moon handles.
This Sideboard bottom section has been braced to accommodate heavy weights.
