Japanese Kimono Chest. A Meiji Period 1868-1912 Clothing Chest (Originally for the storage of Kimono) This is a super example of a Ueoki Chest. Generous use of wood and made from Paulownia and Cryptomia. Made from these woods because they protected the contents from moisture. Hardware is all hand forged Iron, including all the nails. Deep and easy sliding drawers. These could be split and used separately.
