Japanese Antique Tochi Wood Merchant Chest is known as a Choba Dansu in Japan. It was used in the shop front in pride of place. All the drawers were used to organise and store receipts and ledgers.
All drawer fronts and sliding door panels are Tochi Horse Chestnut a rare timber for furniture construction.
