Antique Hikone Kitchen Chest Sideboard. Hikone Region mizuya dansu (Bottom Section) is a traditional kitchen chest used for storing utensils, dishes, and ingredients. Crafted from Keyaki, Hinoki and Sugi wood with iron fittings, it reflects the refined carpentry of the region. Its multi-compartment design combines practicality with elegance, embodying the functional beauty of Japanese domestic furniture.
The top has been reinforced with a strut of timber to allow for heavy weights such as a flat screen TV. It not only looks great but also provides great storage.
