Early Meiji Period Merchant Chest
This beautiful Choba Dansu (Merchants Chest) I bought from an Edo Period house which was on the Tokaido the path from Kyoto to Edo (Tokyo) in Otsu on lake Biwako. It is dated Meiji Period 2 (1869). It’s great quality and one drawer and the sliders where replaced.
In great condition.
